The Leatt Auto Racing Head and Neck Restraint System

With the Leatt MRX head and neck restraint system, comfort is a big issue – especially with drivers of road racing, off road vehicles and endurance drivers in particular. Leatt set out to increase driver comfort dramatically by creating a flexible chassis and adding a thick layer of fire retardant Nomex padding between your body, your neck and the device. This chassis also has collarbone cut outs and it molds itself better to more body shapes. During testing we found this unit does a great job of pulling your chest into the seat and not down on your shoulders.

The flexibility of the device also results in optimal head control, bringing the head and tether angle to an ideal orientation for maximum energy uptake that also results in decreased neck forces during the entire crash sequence. Their padding adds more uses than just comfort, it reduces helmet to device impact spikes creating a softer hit/feel. Rubber bumpers on inside of rear collar also act to decrease these spikes.

I got one of these. No prior head & neak support. I like the way it fits and after my first track day with it, I didn't even realize it was there. I just have to change the order of getting ready, as it is easier to put the helmet on outside the car now. I have a plate on my rh collar bone from a MT crash, and it does not bother it at all. Overall I am very happy with it.
